List of best vacuum cleaner in 2024

Vacuum cleaners work by utilizing brush heads and cleaning agents to penetrate the carpet pile and remove dirt, frequently leaving your carpet to appear virtually brand new. Once a year, or every six months if you have pets or allergies.

Vacuums work great for routine cleaning, but they might not be the best choice for deep cleaning. Steam cleaners will revive your carpet, but if you want to remove tough stains like wine, a specialized carpet cleaner is a tool you need.

Today I will be making a review of the best vacuum cleaner on the market. Although there are features you have to consider before choosing which vacuum cleaner is best for you, things like battery life, charging time, capacity, headlights, smart technology, battery level indicator, slit-to-cut hair, weight, variable suction, retractable cord, rotating brush, etc.

Note that this article is not a sponsored post; the review is carried out based on the top-performing vacuum cleaners for homes, cars, and offices recommended by our cleaning experts.

Boost CX1 Parquet

Boost CX1 Parquet

Due to its strong suction and remarkably small size, this canister vacuum cleaner is among the top cleaning and organizing devices. The model can also be ordered with a TurboBrush for removing pet hair or a universal floor brush for bare floors and carpets, in addition to the parquet floor brush that is included in this version of the product for hardwood floors. In our tests, it didn’t leave any debris on the carpets, hardwood floors, or tiles, was simple to use, and had a long enough reach to clean our offices without switching power outlets.

The device is equipped with a HEPA filter, reducing the number of allergens that can be released into the air. Its dust cup can be effortlessly removed and reinstalled without the need to even press a button.

Samsung Jet 90 Complete

Samsung Jet 90 Complete

The Samsung Jet 90 has two floorheads, one with a soft roller for better debris collection on bare floors and the other with a bristled brush for better surface agitation on carpets. These are among the several attachments that come with the Samsung Jet 90. Although its 200W motor isn’t quite as strong, it still performs well. It includes a five-stage filtration system that captures fine allergens like pet dander, is quite simple to operate, and is remarkably effective at getting rid of pet hair. Although it is relatively expensive, it is also completely compatible with a specialized mopping floorhead for removing dried-on dirt and stains.

APEX Upright Vacuum Cleaner

APEX Upright Vacuum Cleaner

This upright vacuum weighs more than the other models on our list, and some of our testers complained that the device is heavy. The fact that it can quickly switch from an upright to a canister with the push of a button and that the brush roll cannot be switched off, even when the vacuum is in hard floor cleaning mode, is useful. The dust cup was easy to remove and reattach, and the pre-motor and HEPA filters were both washable.

This sealed vacuum with a HEPA filter is a great choice if you love bagless vacuums but still want a model that filters out tiny particles. It received the highest marks in our most recent Cleaning Lab tests for its powerful suction and dirt pick-up on both bare floors and carpet. Its two carpet modes, which are appropriate for houses with carpet heights ranging from low to high pile, speed up the brush roll to better remove debris from your carpet fibers. However, when we used it to clean deeply entrenched filth in our test carpets, it did not perform as well as other models.

Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra

Dyson Ball Animal 3 Extra

The best corded upper-midrange vacuum we’ve tested is the Dyson Ball Animal 3. This bagless vacuum doesn’t feel particularly sturdy in comparison to more expensive, high-end canister vacuums. In comparison to a cordless device with a similar price, it is also significantly bigger and more difficult to set up. If you can get beyond its large appearance and rather plasticky build, it offers outstanding performance on a range of surface types. Pet hair is likewise no problem for it, and the anti-tangle floorhead with built-in plastic vanes is very good at minimizing hair buildup.

Additionally, this vacuum features a five-stage filtration system with a HEPA filter to help keep allergens within. Although to a lesser extent than its predecessor, the Dyson Ball Animal 2, it can drag around shag-pile carpets even with its floorhead height set to its highest level due to its powerful suction motor.

Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus Vacuum

Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus Vacuum

This pet hair eraser vacuum performed admirably in our lab testing for its simplicity of use and strong suction, but we didn’t care for the fact that it lacked a retractable cable for simpler storage.

This vacuum cleaner is equipped with a ton of features that will collect every last piece of pet hair that isn’t wanted. Pet hair is prevented from clogging the bristles of the brush roll by a tangle-free design, and the debris is contained inside the canister by a hair spooling mechanism for simpler and cleaner emptying. It includes a lot of accessories, including a 2-in-1 pet dusting brush and a Pet TurboEraser Tool that may be used to remove pet hair, like many other of Bissell’s top vacuums.  This device is worth having in 2024.

Shark Cordless Vertex Pro-Powered Lift-Away

Shark Cordless Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away

On bare floors, the Shark Cordless Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away performs remarkably well, and it also does an incredible job of cleaning debris from the carpet. Its motor unit can be detached from its floorhead and carried with one hand, just like the majority of Shark’s regular corded uprights, making it simpler to clean confined spaces.

If you want a mid-priced vacuum that can still tackle a range of messes, this is a fantastic choice. The Samsung Jet 90 Complete is more maneuverable than this cordless upright vacuum.

You must be careful when cleaning shaggier rugs because, regrettably, like many other cordless vacuums, its floorhead doesn’t allow any height adjustment.

Eureka Mighty Mite

Eureka Mighty Mite

The Eureka Mighty Mite is a great option if you want something corded and affordable. It isn’t quite as well-made and is devoid of amenities like in-built tool storage and a self-winding power wire. Even with a basic pure suction floorhead, it performs quite well on bare floors and picks up a remarkable amount of dirt from the carpet.

Choose an upright with a height-adjustable head, like the BISSELL PowerForce Helix, if you want to clean a lot of dense carpeting on a tight budget. Nevertheless, the BISSELL occupies a lot more space, isn’t nearly as portable, especially in confined spaces, and seems even less solid.

The Eureka has the advantage of being incredibly portable and simple to maintain. When cleaning larger regions, though, you’ll need to switch outlets because the power cable is very short.

CleanView Bagless Vacuum

CleanView Bagless Vacuum

This vacuum contains pre and post-motor filters instead of a HEPA filter, which needs to be changed every three to six months. A foot-activated on/off switch, a TurboBrush tool that resembles the motorized pet tools in many other models, and onboard storage for all of the available tools are a few of our other favorite features.

The powerful suction and features that make it ideal for cleaning both hard floors and carpets led us to include it in our list of the best vacuums from Bissell, even though we haven’t tested this particular model specifically. We have, however, tested many other models from Bissell, including older models with the same OnePass technology. For many years, Amazon customers have rated this Bissell upright vacuum as their favorite (27,000 ratings and counting).

Furthermore, this vacuum cleaner lacks some of the extra features found in more contemporary vacuums, such as multiple suction settings and a brush roll that can be turned off. It does have five-height settings that range from bare floors to high pile carpets, a 6-foot hose for cleaning stairs and high places, and a large dust cup that is simple to empty and has a bottom opening. This is a great option if you don’t care about modern design and features.

Dyson V15 Detect

Dyson V15 Detect

The Dyson V15 Detect is the top vacuum we’ve tested. This expensive stick vacuum is really powerful and performs debris pickup similarly to many corded ones. But it does have the benefit of being very simple to deploy and control. It has a dirt sensor that counts and measures the size of the particles being sucked into the vacuum, and it can automatically adjust its suction power depending on the surface it’s on. However, it feels somewhat fragile, which is disappointing for a vacuum at this price point, and it has a relatively basic floorhead with no height adjustment or brushes roll-off switch, meaning it can get stuck on thicker carpeting pretty often.

If you want something more durable, take a look at the Samsung Bespoke Jet. It has a distinctive standup charging rack that also serves as the dustbin’s self-emptying base station, making cleanup simpler and more hygienic. However, it is more difficult to operate than the Dyson due to its larger floorhead and its unable to automatically alter its suction force.

V15 Detect Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

V15 Detect Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The V15 Detect, consistently ranked among the finest stick vacuums for performance and features, makes it an exceptional housekeeping cleaning device for its laser-beamed bare floor brush, which could detect and pick up even the smallest pieces of dust that were otherwise invisible to us. It is rather expensive, and lacks a HEPA filter, but has a ton of tools including a dusting brush, hair screw tool, and digital motorcar. It also automatically increases the suction and speed of the brush roll based on the type of floor and how much dust it detects while cleaning.

The V15 Detect can be easily converted into a hand vacuum, though at over six pounds, it might be a little too heavy to use as one. It also has a clear LCD that indicates battery life and real-time performance, like the number and size of particles picked up. Nearly all of its reviews on Amazon are five stars, with one reviewer notably saying, “This vacuum is the second thing I would grab if my house was on fire.”
