At the time of admission, if you have an admissions average of 80 percent or higher at Carleton, you will be automatically eligible for a renewable entrance scholarship. The school determines your admissions average based on the high school grades you provided with your application. Carleton university entrance scholarships are offered for fall entry only.
If you are a first-time high school or CEGEP student entering Carleton and have never attended a post-secondary institution before, you might be eligible for a renewable entrance scholarship. Your complete application for admission and all necessary grades must be received by June 15th, either directly from the Ontario Universities Application Center or through the University’s Admissions Services to be eligible for an entrance scholarship.

Application Process
Prospective students are often automatically considered for entrance scholarships when they apply for admission to Carleton University. On or before June 15, the university must receive your completed admissions application and all necessary grades for you to be eligible for an entrance scholarship. You might qualify for one of the transfer scholarships if you’re a standout student moving from another Canadian institution or college to Carleton’s full-time undergraduate program.

Entrance scholarships may be awarded based on academic excellence, leadership, extracurricular activities, or contributions to a particular field. Some scholarships may have specific eligibility criteria, such as enrollment in a particular program or financial need.

Renewability and Maintenance
Certain entrance scholarships are renewable for subsequent years, provided that the student maintains a specified level of academic performance. We already gave the terms for renewability above in relation with admission average.
Notification and Acceptance
Students who are selected for entrance scholarships will typically be notified by the university. The notification will include details about the scholarship offer, its value, and any conditions or requirements.

Additional Carleton University Entrance Scholarships
1. Carleton Capital Scholarship
A $2,000 award will be given to up to 13 students each year, one for each province and territory, during their first year of study. In addition to various entrance scholarships, there is also the Carleton Capital Scholarship.
Students who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons enrolled in their first year of a degree program and pursuing post-secondary education for the first time are eligible for the Carleton Capital Scholarship.
Along with a good academic background (minimum admission average of 90%), students have to demonstrate participation in extracurricular activities. An application is required. It closes on March 1.
2. Awards for International Students
International students applying for September 2022 will automatically be considered for the International Award of Merit OR the International Award of Excellence in addition to the Entrance Scholarships. Based on grades at the time of admission, these are one-time, merit-based prizes given to students who come immediately out of high school to attend Carleton. An additional application is not necessary.
3. Sprott School of Business Scholarships
The top students starting their first year of the Bachelor of Commerce degree will receive the Dean’s Entrance Scholarship of Excellence, worth $1,000 to $4,000.
4. Faculty of Engineering and Design Scholarships
Upon admission to specific Bachelor of Engineering programs, the top students will receive up to 60 $1,000 scholarships.
5. Page Program Entrance Scholarships
Students in the House of Commons Page Program who are starting an undergraduate degree program at Carleton will be eligible to receive up to 15 scholarships. The scholarship, worth $1,000, is given out in addition to other entrance scholarships.
6. Arthur Kroeger College National Scholarships
Students enrolling in the Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management program may be eligible to receive up to ten scholarships, worth $2,000. Two students will be chosen from each of the following five regions, with a minimum admission average of 90%:
- Atlantic Canada
- British Columbia and Northern Canada
- Ontario
- Prairies
- Quebec
7. Collins Memorial Entrance Scholarships for Earth Sciences
Students enrolling in the first year of an Earth Sciences degree will be eligible to receive two or more scholarships, valued at $1,000 to $4,000.
8. The Law Scholarship in Architectural Studies
A $10,000 scholarship is awarded every year to a deserving overseas undergraduate student starting a full-time Bachelor of Architectural Studies program. Eligible students must be admitted from a high school in China/Hong Kong. You must submit an application.
