I was blown away by the Acer Swift Go 14. It not only outperformed even its noticeably more expensive competition, but it also did it all for an absurdly low cost. I was shocked to find that our model costs $1,049 because we’ve seen it perform better than even the amazing MacBook Pro M2 in most categories.
The real kicker, though, is here. The 2,880 x 1,800-pixel OLED display on the Swift Go 14 is one of the most colorful displays we’ve ever tested at Laptop Mag. It’s a mesmerizing sight to behold, making all the other technology I use seem uninteresting in comparison. And to make things even more stunning, considering that it is an OLED panel, its brightness is shockingly high. It quickly whisked me away to the mythical land of Middle-Earth.
The majority of 13- and 14-inch laptops prioritize mobility and use simpler processors with longer battery lives. As a result, batteries can be smaller and cooling can be kept to a minimum, making computers slimmer and lighter. When it came to keeping weight low, Acer used to lead the industry with some of the Swift series’ lightest models. The Swift Go 14, on the other hand, combines moderate weight with powerful performance.
The laptop is thicker and more angularly shaped than most of its rivals, and as a result, the Intel Core i7-13700H processor can support significantly more powerful hardware. The H series has more high-performance cores, consumes more power, and generates more heat.
These processors are frequently found in laptops for demanding creative work or powerful gaming machines, and they frequently come with an equally potent graphics card like the Nvidia Geforce RTX or AMD Radeon RX. That’s not available here, so you’ll have to settle for the processor’s integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics.

Performance
A 512GB SSD, 16GB of RAM, and an Intel Core i7-13700H processor are all included in the Swift Go 14’s construction. The fact puts Acer’s most recent attempt far ahead of its rivals in most categories, so calling this laptop powerful feels like we’re underselling it somewhat. This laptop is a true titan for its price range, with performance figures that totally blew us away.
With a multi-core score of 11,815, the Swift Go 14 outperformed the category average (6,998), Slim Pro 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS, 9,031), MacBook Pro M2 (Apple M2, 8,911), and Gram 16 (Intel 12th Gen Core i7-1260p, 8,431) in the Geekbench 5.5 overall performance test.
I stated at the outset of this review that the Swift Go 14 and Swift 3 were quite similar. Even taking into account the change in processor generation, it is more potent than any Swift 3 I’ve used up to this point.
While I’d anticipate a laptop of this caliber to have at most one of Intel’s mid-range “P” series processors, my review Swift Go 14 features the top-tier Intel Core i7-13700H, a true performance processor. It has 20 threads and 14 cores. The Core i7-1360P has 12 cores and 16 threads, making it more portable while maintaining strength.
It receives a score of 6160 on PC Mark 10 and 11724 on Geekbench 6. Even though it is still an “Intel Core i7,” a laptop with the low-voltage, portability-driven Core i7-1355U may score roughly 8500 points in Geekbench 6. It is equipped to handle the more challenging tasks you may give a laptop.

Our Acer Swift Go 14 model is equipped with a 14-inch 2,880 x 1,800-pixel OLED display, an Intel Core i7-13700H CPU, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, and Windows 11 Home. On Acer’s website, it’s offered for a startlingly cheap price of $1,049.99, which is astounding given its excellent performance.
With an Intel Core i5-1335U processor, Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, and a 14-inch, 2240 x 1440-pixel, IPS screen with a 60Hz refresh rate, the base model starts at $849.99.
With the Swift Go 14, which retails for $1049.99 (and is only available from Acer in the US), you get a lot for your money. It offers strong performance along with a gorgeous display, plenty of storage, and a solid selection of ports.

Design
The Swift Go 14 has a shiny, minimalist design made of smooth, silver aluminum that immediately caught my attention. I can run my fingertips across the surface and savor its exquisite texture because the top of the straightforward lid is a glorious expanse of empty space with the seductively reflective Acer logo at the bottom center.
When the lid is lifted, a gorgeous 16:10 screen with a 90% screen-to-body bezel ratio that lets the display stand out front and center is revealed, coupled with a spacious keyboard that barely takes up any room on the deck. The four stickers that are placed next to the touchpad are something that I personally don’t like, but you can always take them off.
One of my favorite features of the Swift Go 14 is how the laptop stands up when you open it since the bottom of the lid extends a little further than the base. Additionally, the screen appears even bigger than it would usually be since the top of the deck slopes downward and tucks some of the lower bezels beneath its view.
Swift Go 14 dimensions are 12.3 x 8.6 x 0.6 inches, and it weighs 2.9 pounds. It is thus both smaller and lighter than the Lenovo Slim Pro 7 (3.5 pounds, 12.8 x 8.9 x 0.6 inches), but larger and still lighter than the Apple MacBook Pro M2 (3 pounds, 12 x 8.4 x 0.6 inches). The LG Gram 16 (2.5 pounds, 14 x 9.5 x 0.66 inches) is the largest and lightest of the group, which makes it a bit of a mystery.

Battery Life
Although the Swift Go 14 is a fantastic laptop, its biggest drawback is its short battery life. The Swift Go 14 only lasted 8 hours and 5 minutes through the Laptop Mag battery test, which entails continuous web browsing over Wi-Fi at 150 nits of brightness. This is just a little under the category average (8:13).
This is not even close to its competitors, though it might at least last you an entire workday. The MacBook Pro M2 (18:20) and Gram 16 (13:08) last significantly longer than the Slim Pro 7 (9:41), which already lasts a little bit longer.
It makes sense to anticipate a laptop with a powerful CPU to have a short battery life. All things considered, the Acer Swift Go 14’s are actually rather good. In PC Mark’s Modern Office benchmark at 150-nit brightness, it lasts nine hours and 42 minutes.
After conducting additional Geekbench 6 testing, it appears that this Intel generation is capable of some AMD-style tricks, reducing system performance in order to significantly extend battery life. On Windows 11’s balanced performance setting, performance, when plugged in, is roughly 1.5 times better than it is when operating on batteries.
This laptop’s increased performance needs an adapter with more punch than the norm. It has 100W of power compared to the higher-end portable standard of 65W. Yes, faster charging. But it’s also slightly bigger and heavier. Despite the fact that it won’t charge as quickly, the Swift 14 Go will still charge with a low-power USB adapter.
