To be considered for a scholarship, you need to apply by the relevant closing date for the research quarter you want to start in. We recommend you apply as early as possible after applications open.

RQ1 or RQ2, 2024 start – Domestic Applicants
This round is for domestic applicants and those onshore international students who have completed a program at UQ in 2023. Applicants must be onshore at the time that offers are issued.
- 28 August 2023 – Applications open. Submit your application online.
If you have pending documentation, such as Honours or English tests, please still apply with information on when those results will be available. We will advise you if it is possible to consider your application in the round.
- 24 September 2023 – Applications close
Apply on, or soon after the opening date to increase your chances of being considered for the scholarship round. - 20 October 2023 – School/Institute shortlisting of applicants completed and applications sent for assessment.

Current UQ students applying, who haven’t yet received their final results from their coursework programs, won’t receive offers until after results from that semester have been published. - 2 January 2024 – Acceptances due

The University of Queensland Graduate Scholarships (UQGSS) application period for the 2024–2025 academic year is about to commence. It is not too early to begin preparing and to have all the necessary paperwork available. Applications for these scholarships will be accepted by the university starting in May 2023. On the other hand, applications for research degree programs are accepted all year round.
