Our society sends us a lot of signals that are intended to make us hostile to ourselves or to separate us from one another. However, we reveal our actual nature—a limitless field of awareness that is inherently fearless and loving—when we cease criticising, avoiding, and attempting to reject that which makes us feel humiliated or fearful.
Perhaps the most radical act of healing we can do is to acknowledge our inherent goodness as human beings. According to Tara Brach, “the gold of our true nature can never be tarnished.” “We open to happiness, peace, and freedom when we remember and trust this fundamental goodness of our Being.

Review
Dr. Tara Brach reminds us in “Trusting the Gold: Learning to Nurture Your Inner Light” how important it is to have faith in our deepest human nature as we navigate life. When faced with difficult and stressful circumstances in life, we often act in ways that are damaging or inappropriate for both ourselves and other people.
But Dr. Brach contends—with many instances from everyday life—that humans are inherently sensitive, loving, caring, and compassionate. Maintaining faith in the treasures in ourselves and taking the right steps to access them are the challenges.
As is often the case, we become so engrossed in our hectic activities that we fail to stop and think in order to access these hidden treasures. As Dr. Brach points out, in these hectic times, we have a tendency to dwell too much on the negative aspects of our own and other people’s inadequacy.
We may rely on frequent attentive awareness and loving-kindness meditation practices to reach our genuine, golden nature inside, even on the busiest days of our lives. To put it briefly, Dr. Brach recommends in this book that we cultivate an attitude of awareness, love, compassion, and acceptance in order to realize our natural potential.

Second Review
This lovely small book is full of calming watercolour illustrations and gentle guidance to promote compassion and kindness toward oneself and others. Tara Brach gently teaches the reader how to live a more peaceful, loving, and contented life by sharing personal experiences, Buddhist and other teaching stories, psychological insights, and thought-provoking questions.
Since I’ve read a lot of books about happiness, mindfulness, and meditation, I was already familiar with many of these concepts. But I thought this presentation was fantastic. With such grace, humour, and openness, Tara shares her insights. When she talks about preparing for a seminar on presence while preoccupiedly applying shaving cream into her hair, it’s simple to identify.
Vicky Alvarez’s artwork was the ideal complement to the narrative. They promote a state of meditation. Anyone interested in spiritual development or looking for a thoughtful break from stress and distraction would find this book to be a wonderful gift. I appreciate Sounds True giving me an unproofed ARC via NetGalley. I offered to write an unbiased evaluation.
